Tying My Happy!

Well I made it through last night!  I thought a lot about my choices.  The hardest part was not eating the Homemade Chex Mix that was in a gigantic bowl right in front of me!   I did it!

One of the things I worked on was not standing in the kitchen and eating from the bowls.  I put food on my plate and always included veggies.  Then left.  I restricted my alcohol and guess what I didn't feel denied or restricted and I only gained 0.4 ounces!  Yeh!!

Today I'm making French Dip in the crockpot using a recipe from Fix it Lightly!  Very easy - roast, 3 cups of water, 1 cup of soy sauce, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp rosemary, 1 tsp thyme, 3 peppercorns (I just used pepper), bay leaf.  Cook on high 5-6 hours then shred or slice the meat.  Strain the juice for dipping.  Steamed cauliflower for the veggie!  I'm looking forward to it!
I'm kind of bummed the Wellness Center is closed.  I'll have to figure out a different way to work out!

So today, the author Lysa Terkeurst talked about how we tie food to what we do.  Popcorn at the movies, birthdays have food, good grades = go out to dinner, even lose weight = give yourself a treat! Instead I need to tie my thoughts and activities to Jesus!  I need to go to Him.

I've had the fantasies of being the perfect size and everyone is awe of what I've done!  This makes me an incomplete person.  Being thin will not be the only way to make me complete.  There are many things in my life that would improve my happiness: not fighting with my husband and kids, kids getting good grades, a clean house, bills all paid, the house not breaking down, all of us healthy!  Well some of this is out of my hands but a lot of it is not!  I guess I have quite a list to work on!  I'm going to start with the money problem - Today I will cut up my credit cards!  Lord give me strength!!

Happy New Year Everyone!  God's blessings to you!
